After more than 32 years in the game, Lennie Lawrence has rightly earned a reputation as one of the most respected names in football. As a coach and manager he has experienced all of the highs, lows and emotions the game has to offer and has been involved with teams from every division of the English leagues. He earned a legendary reputation during nine years at Charlton Athletic helping to steer the club from near bankruptcy to a place among the football’s elite. He then led Boro to promotion to in the inaugural Premier League in his first season in charge, making several astute signings include Paul Wilkinson, Willie Falconer and Andy Peake. He has played a major role in the fortunes of nine different clubs also including Cardiff City and now Bristol Rovers.

He belongs to an elite band of 18 English managers who have clocked up more than 1,000 games as manager. His contemporaries in this Hall of Fame include Sir Alex Ferguson, Harry Redknapp, Steve Coppell, Brian Clough and Sir Matt Busby.
